Best Vacations to take with Children!

Traveling with children can be just as frustrating, messy, and wonderful as raising them. Although the idea of choosing the perfect vacation spot can seem daunting; just as with raising children, a little bit of planning can go a long way. There’s a great big world out there to explore; however, not all destinations are created equal when it comes to traveling as a family. The best family travel places have a few things in common: accessibility, a mix of indoor and outdoor activities fun for all ages, and a certain “wow” factor that will be sure to create fun filled memories for the whole family to enjoy for years to come. Here are a few of our favorite family-friendly destinations.

San Diego
With more than 4,000 rare and endangered species the San Diego zoo is one largest and most diverse in America. Not only can you get up, close, and personal with the Polar Bears but you can also burrow into a snow den and climb into the cockpit of a helicopter. San Diego is also home to SeaWorld, where kids can experience a Dolphin Interaction, Shark Encounter, watch a legendary sea mammal show, and ride along on one of its many thrill rides. For the little ones, be sure to check out Legoland where they can build creations with only their imagination as a limit. And of course don’t forget the beach!

New York
A city of ten million is sure to have something for everyone. Take in a show on Broadway, explore Central Park on a bicycle, catch a ride on a tour bus, or roam through the diverse neighborhoods south of Canal Street. The American Museum of National History is a magnet for kids of all ages from its iconic “dinosaurs in the attic” to the colossal blue whale model suspended from the ceiling. You can start conversations about your own family’s history in the records and pictures of Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty. The observation deck of the Empire State Building stays open until after midnight. As a special treat let the little ones stay up way past their bedtime observing the city that never sleeps.

Gettysburg
Get away from the city to the rural farmlands of Pennsylvania to explore historical Gettysburg. The famous battlefield is a destination that will provide one of the most moving lessons in American history that every family member can appreciate. The nearby Amish country allows your family to experience a slower paced way of living where you can eat tasty treats while hunting for a treasure. Don’t miss out on chocolate and roller coasters in nearby Hershey Park.

Bethany Beach
If the crowds of Virginia and Maryland beaches keep you from enjoying the waves, check out Bethany Beach. This small town offers a much more serene experience with a much more family-friendly price. Families will find sunny days filled with bathing on the broad beaches, shopping tax-free at the shops around town, leisurely strolling the Boardwalk, or lingering over a gourmet meal at one of the many restaurants.

And of course there is the one famous vacation to take with children that a little mouse told us about!
